Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 1:14 who is a deposit guaranteering our inheirtance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of God. We are admonished to turn away from wickedness, to pursue righteousness, love and peace. We must get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice. Instead, we are to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave us. Bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, and malice are sins that grieve the Holy Spirit, as is wicked deeds. So we must rid ourselves of them. Reading and studying our Bibles is a way to help the Holy Spirit help us. As we feed ourselves with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will illuminate the words of God in us. Then they become a part of us. Thus we become a new creature.
We are waiting for the Day of his return. We have been sealed for the day of redemption. We are the church, the bride of Christ, waiting on our Groom. Meanwhile, Our Lord was so loving and caring in providing us with the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, our Guide, and our Teacher. He promised the disciples to send the Holy Spirit to them on the day of Pentecost, and he did. He now indwells in all who have believed in Jesus and now trust in Jesus for their salvation.
