Well, today I heard some disturbing news. We may not get our Social Security checks this month. I have not heard such a thing, but my ex-husband and his girlfriend assured me of such a fact. I wanted to tell them, "Make sure you send me some money to pay my bills then." But I know how to keep the peace with them. Keep my mouth shut and my remarks to myself. I do not worry, God promised to take care of his children. As one pastor said, "If you have been praying for healing for a loved one and they die, they just got the best healing of all. A totally new body and in heaven." So if Geraldo and I cannot eat, buy meds, pay bills, etc. and we die, we will be in the best place ever. Being serious, what a disaster it would be here in America. And the world laughing at us and saying, "Oh see how the mighty have fallen! Woe to thee, woe to thee."

MONEY, YEA! Well I was fortunate to find the power cord to my laptop, actually, mine and Geralo's laptop. And I found some money, too. Well, not actually money, but my credit card was credited for what I had spent on the new power cord. So blessed. I know, it seems like nothing to some, but to me it means groceries and gas. Hahaha!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERALDO! So his 31th birthday is here. Thank you Jesus. In another time, another age, Geraldo would likely not be alive. He suffered double pneumonia at the tender age of 7 months. But in this modern age, he made it through. Thank God, my husband had insurance at the time. He was attended at the Texas Children's Hospital at the Medical Center. He survived and has lived many fruitful years. He started school at three yrs. old. He was so tiny as he climbed the stairs of the tiny school bus. Not really tiny but about a third of the regular buses. He played with his older brother and two sisters. We lived in a trailer park at the time, and he had a ball with all the kids at the place. My husband and I had a fruitstand at the time. A lady would come pick up Geraldo to take him to a place for infant stimulation. She carried him on her lap as she drove the car a la Ms Spears. This was before children's carseats, etc. This was before he was in school. The belief was that early infant stimulation would help Down Syndrome kids develope physicially as close to their peer group as possible. The one thing that helped Geraldo was the TV program "Soul Train." The rock music would get Geraldo exicited and he'd hold on to something and rock up and down, until one day he started walking.at eighteen months By two years old, he was an expert. Wish him a Happy Birthday.
I PLUNKED IT DOWN, MY CREDIT CARD THAT IS AND I WAS ANGRY. But, I managed to calm down. Geraldo could not help it. We have had this laptop for years and have never had a problem. Once you lose the power cord, though, you are in trouble. He lost it on his watch, but it could have been me. Eighty six green bucks. I know, we are not supposed to use credit, but I am not creative enough to stand at a corner and ask for alms. If you live in Sugar Land, Stafford. Missouri City you might not see them, but in Houston, you can have one on every corner and some corners can have teams. I do not have that kind of luck, I would be arrested and end up in the red. I have not had time to go out and sell Mary Kay either. So, I plunked it and I thanked God I have something to plunk down. LOL! Trouble is, I had just plunked the same card down for a flat tire and oil change. Again, I thank Our Lord Jesus Christ I have something to plunk down. Shalom means peace. Shalom to you all.
Got it! My cpap machine. I have to use it 6 hours a night so medicare will pay for it. So, I have been getting lots of sleep and better quality sleep, too. Used to get a lot less. Now I get up and see my machine computer chip tells me I have only slept 4 or 5 hours and I have to go back to bed for extra shut-eye. Lol! Yes, you go back to sleep, because my mask is similiar to the picture above, and as you can see, it is bulky and there is not much you can do. But I feel so much better. My energy level has gone up a notch, thank God, because at 67, I have had to deal with a 2 years old male bundle of energy, my grandson. I also do a lot of driving with him in the car so I need to be well rested. I really like it. Some married couples have to use one cpap each. Lol! I guess not hearing your own snoring while you sleep helps you sleep better. I have to keep it clean, rinse off tubing and mask, and use distilled water for the humidifier. They will send me a replacement filter once a month. At first, years ago, when Geraldo started using a cpap, they did not use water, only dry air. But I am going back to see if I can try a different mask. Very satisfied.
One of my sisters with diabetes lost two of her toes. No, not to diabetes, but to a bacteria infection in the staph family. It struck hard and quickly and went to her bones. Sometimes dogs carry the bacteria. If you have a sore that won't heal quickly, diabetes or not, take care of it quickly. One blessing is that the bacteria went in one toe where my sister had a crack in the skin. That was the open door. Then it made a turn and went to the other toe. If it had gone straight up the foot, my sister might have lost some of her foot. She said she would have liked to have gotten an iron boot, but she was joking. She has a wonderful daughter who is taking good care of her, another blessing.

I have been interested in the Bible for many years. I have been saved by Jesus Christ since the age of eleven. I am now sixty-seven. I did not study the Bible until the birth of my Downs Syndrome son, Geraldo, when I was thirty-five. Only in my LORD could I find comfort and consolation. So, I pray there are like minded souls out there. Leave a comment, no matter if you have positive or negative thoughts about what you read.
