Today I went to turn in my report of my community service to the municipal court. Hurray! Wow! Courts do a booming business all the time. Judges and court clerks will never be out of business. Take care. Shalom
I went to the diabetes class and learned a few things I had already found out and some confirmed my suspicions. One was that if you eat fats your sugars go up and stay up. Boo Hoo! So what is good without fats. Actually, fats are poison for diabetics. I had a bad experience once with 2, mind you, 2 tamales. I hardly ever buy other people's tamales, but this time I did. I ate those tamales and my sugar readings stayed up for at least 3 days. I became suspicous of fats then. The class confirmed my suspicions. The other is that you can have sugar, but in limited amounts only. Well, this I had always done. One more thing I learned is that milk has carbs, and so do strawberries. All the berries do. So you cannot chow down on strawberries, thinking it is just a fruit. Go easy on bananas and watermelons, too. Now, veggies, you can gorge yourself on them anytime of the day or night. O yeah! What fun. A salad and water party. Go easy on the dressing or skip alltogether. Chocolate does not raise your sugar fast, but all the juices do, especially orange juice. Eat an apple or an orange , rather than drink the juice. Your sugar shoots up and you miss out on the fiber with juice. The same holds true for all fruits. Eat fresh, skip the juice. Keep some orange juice on hand in case your sugar plummets and you need a fast sugar pick me up. It can happen. Do go easy on the starchy veggies, like corn, peas, beans, rice, squashs, and sweet and white potatoes. Check your sugars all the time with the sugar monitors. Learn your A1C. My A1C is 8.9, which means my sugars have been on an average around 210 more or less. Not good. Normal is 80 to 120. See your doctor every three months, your dentist every 6 months and your eye doctor once a year. Follow your doctor's orders. And exercise!

I have been interested in the Bible for many years. I have been saved by Jesus Christ since the age of eleven. I am now sixty-seven. I did not study the Bible until the birth of my Downs Syndrome son, Geraldo, when I was thirty-five. Only in my LORD could I find comfort and consolation. So, I pray there are like minded souls out there. Leave a comment, no matter if you have positive or negative thoughts about what you read.
