There was a verse in the Bible that might have been used out of context by government officials after the 9/11 tragedy. It may have happened with or without their knowledge as we all know that they sometimes use speechwriters. It was Isaiah 9:10 "The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars." NIV and New King James 9:10 it reads as follows: The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. Actually, if you read chapters. 8 and 10 and all of 9, you will realize that Israel was in rebellion against God and that the attack they had just suffered was a warning from God to return to him. So this verse was taken totally out of context and we do not want to seem to be in rebellion to God. Also, if you read the other chapters, it just so happens that Our LORD finally does bring complete judgement on Israel for their disobedience and their prideful attitude towards God's warning. It was a bad mistake done in ignorance, I am sure, on our part. Nevertheless, we pray that Our LORD overlooks the mistake and forgives our ignorance. Amen amen.

I have been interested in the Bible for many years. I have been saved by Jesus Christ since the age of eleven. I am now sixty-seven. I did not study the Bible until the birth of my Downs Syndrome son, Geraldo, when I was thirty-five. Only in my LORD could I find comfort and consolation. So, I pray there are like minded souls out there. Leave a comment, no matter if you have positive or negative thoughts about what you read.
