There was a verse in the Bible that might have been used out of context by government officials after the 9/11 tragedy. It may have happened with or without their knowledge as we all know that they sometimes use speechwriters. It was Isaiah 9:10 "The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars." NIV and New King James 9:10 it reads as follows: The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. Actually, if you read chapters. 8 and 10 and all of 9, you will realize that Israel was in rebellion against God and that the attack they had just suffered was a warning from God to return to him. So this verse was taken totally out of context and we do not want to seem to be in rebellion to God. Also, if you read the other chapters, it just so happens that Our LORD finally does bring complete judgement on Israel for their disobedience and their prideful attitude towards God's warning. It was a bad mistake done in ignorance, I am sure, on our part. Nevertheless, we pray that Our LORD overlooks the mistake and forgives our ignorance. Amen amen.
CELL PHONES are everywhere.I, personally spend a lot of time on facebook on my cell phone. It is fantastic. I only get to see some email, but I cannot email back because it only gives an error message. It will only work for one or two replies after I take it for repairs, so I gave up. Anyway, you all users of cell phones keep it up. It is a really nice and useful tool as is facebook. It is fun to catch up with the news in Israel that does not make to our news media, though they repeat ad nasuem other stuff. And so neat to keep up with family and their important activities, which you might not get to see otherwise. Thank you Zuckerburg.
I HAVE A GRANDSON about 2yrs and 7 months. Sometime ago he broke a radio button on my dashboard. It is no big deal to me, because I do not even listen to the radio, prefering CD's. So one evening I was giving him a ride in the car in circles on a cul-de-sac in front of his house. It was dark and no traffic about , so he was sitting in front with a seatbelt on. Suddenly he noticed the broken button.. He said, "Grandma, the button broke. You broke it Grandma," pointing his little finger at me. "No, I said. Don't you remember, you broke it Luke?" "No, Grandma, you broke it, you broke it." Well, we finally left the car, went inside the house and told my son-in-law and daughter about what had happened. I asked My grandson in front of them, "Who broke the button, Luke?" "You did Grandma", he answered. His parents chided him, so he quickly changed his answer. " I know," HE SAID WITH A SIGH, " The cookie monster did it!" We had a big laugh, but we knew, Luke is smarter than we think or thought. He never admitted guilt just as Adam said to God in the Garden of Eden, "The woman you (GOD) gave me, did give me of the apple to eat." Oh Luke, at your young age, you have proven, we are born with a sin nature. But you are ok, until you reach the age of accountability. Jesus will be there, waiting on you.
Another pastime fallen by the wayside. And my body cries out for it. So I will have to gather my common sense together and get back to walking. I do Sit and be Fit with RN Mary Ann Wilson who has done this for ages on Public Broadcasting TV. That is what keeps me going. But even that is not always all the time. If driving were exercise, I would be looking like Sandra Dee in her heyday.
IT HAS BEEN SO LONG since I 've done this because since the venues of communications multiplied, my free time decreased. It has been taken up by this desire to keep up wirh things. Is that good?
The book of Daniel is one of the great books of the Bible. All of them are great, but if you want to know what is going on in the world and how the ending is going to be, then; you have got to read this book. From the idol of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar, to the beasts and visions of Daniel, and what child who attended Sunday School did not admire Daniel and his friends surviving the night in the lion's den, all this and much more are in this book. I had done this book before, but; then, I concentrated more on Daniel. Now, because of Gaddafi, who is not on a league with Nebuchaddnezzar, but who acted so unreasonably like trying to be a king of old, trying to disregard the rest of humanity sharing the world with him, I have looked more at Nebuchadnezzar. He was the first king, the first world dictator of the first world empire which is mentioned in the book of Daniel. His was the Babylon Empire, now known as Iraq. Following his empire came the Medo-Perisan Empire. Then, enters Alexander the Great and his Greek Empire. Last, but not least is the Roman Empire, which still rules the world in a broken manner, but very much alive. It has never completely died. And it is going to be revived for a short time in the near future. The Europeon Union led by possibly Germany will be it. This four empires are the only ones dealt with by God. The others are just fractions of the orginial. Daniel did not mentioned any other empires in his book by name or locality.
This fantastic bishop came on TBN yesterday. He was telling a story about how he was started by God in his ministry. After his schooling at seminary, God told him to go to Flordia. He had just married also. By the time he made the trip and was in Flordia, he was flat broke. So he started complaining to God, like many of us do also. "Why did you send me to Flordia, why not New York, etc? Here I am flat broke with a new wife and no money to give her. And the fridge is empty." Apparently, they had a place to live in, but not much else. Then he heard the voice of God telling him, "Go to the grocery store and buy groceries." Bishop Fernandez was dumbfounded. "What, go grocery shopping with no money." Again the Lord spoke to him. "Go to the grocery store and buy groceries." After the third time he told his wife, "Let's go buy groceries." Now, it was her turn to be astonished. "With what?" Bishop Fernandez said, "God has spoken to me to go buy groceries at the grocery store and we have to go." Well, he realized that this was a test of faith. They shopped at the store and kept trying to keep each other's spirits up, after all; they had no money. Bishop Fernandez told his wife, "We have nothing to lose, either they send me to jail, let us go, or a miracle happens." They got to the checkout counter. His wife said, "I'll wait for you in the car." He told her, "No, we will do this together." Suddenly, the front door opened and someone he knew walked up to him and said, "Bishop Fernandez, I was asleep and woke up. The Lord told me you would need this." Then he shook hands with the Bishop and the Bishop felt some paper in his hand. It was money, enough for the groceries and a taxi ride home. He said he had a worshipping moment right there, no choir, no altar no music. Now, he has built Christian colleges and other stuff, because he says he was faithful in the small, God blessed him with much, because he had FAITH. He says sometimes God tells us to do something in faith and we do not do it, and; we miss our blessing. He also said that if he had known God was going to send someone with the money needed for the groceries, he would have shopped for more groceries! Let's not forget the support his wonderful wife showed when she bravely stood by him, even though she had wanted to "wait in the (nonexistent) car." Wives should stand by their men when most needed. Also, the brother being awaken by God in a dream and actually going to the grocery store to do as God had bidden him to do. That's how the church operated in the beginning.
Well, today I heard some disturbing news. We may not get our Social Security checks this month. I have not heard such a thing, but my ex-husband and his girlfriend assured me of such a fact. I wanted to tell them, "Make sure you send me some money to pay my bills then." But I know how to keep the peace with them. Keep my mouth shut and my remarks to myself. I do not worry, God promised to take care of his children. As one pastor said, "If you have been praying for healing for a loved one and they die, they just got the best healing of all. A totally new body and in heaven." So if Geraldo and I cannot eat, buy meds, pay bills, etc. and we die, we will be in the best place ever. Being serious, what a disaster it would be here in America. And the world laughing at us and saying, "Oh see how the mighty have fallen! Woe to thee, woe to thee."
MONEY, YEA! Well I was fortunate to find the power cord to my laptop, actually, mine and Geralo's laptop. And I found some money, too. Well, not actually money, but my credit card was credited for what I had spent on the new power cord. So blessed. I know, it seems like nothing to some, but to me it means groceries and gas. Hahaha!!!

I have been interested in the Bible for many years. I have been saved by Jesus Christ since the age of eleven. I am now sixty-seven. I did not study the Bible until the birth of my Downs Syndrome son, Geraldo, when I was thirty-five. Only in my LORD could I find comfort and consolation. So, I pray there are like minded souls out there. Leave a comment, no matter if you have positive or negative thoughts about what you read.
